Joe Finley

Background
Joe grew up in Milton, Florida and has lived in Northwest Florida most of his life. After graduating from Milton High School in 1978, he received an Associates of Arts Degree from Pensacola Junior College and in 1983 he received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting, with honors, from the University of Florida. At the University of Florida, he was a member of Beta Alpha Psi National Accounting Fraternity.

Employment
Joe has practiced public accounting, specializing in taxation and accounting, in the Northwest Florida area since 1984. Joe is a founder of Hurd & Finley, P.A.

Areas of Practice
Joe has served clients in a variety of industries including ready mix concrete, building materials, construction, real estate development, retail and physicians. Joe's emphasis is in taxation, but he also has experience in working with estates and business valuations.

Professional Associations
Joe is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He is licensed to practice in Florida and Alabama.

Civic Involvement
Joe has served as Treasurer of the Pace Rotary Club, Secretary/Treasurer of the ESCAROSA Regional Workforce Development Board, and Secretary/Treasurer of the Santa Rosa School Readiness Coalition. Joe is also the former Treasurer of both Think First of Northwest Florida and Eternal Trinity Lutheran Church in Milton.

Dan Spata

Background
Dan is originally from Boston, and moved to Pensacola in 1983, after graduating from high school in Redlands, California. After serving in the Army, Dan graduated from Pensacola Junior College. He then graduated from the University of West Florida in 1991, with a degree in Accounting Information Systems. Dan, his wife, Morena, and their son Matthew live in Pace.

Employment
Dan began his accounting career in Pensacola at a not-for-profit organization. He has been with Hurd & Finley, P.A. since 1993.

Areas of Practice
Dan has experience in audit, accounting, tax and computer hardware and software consulting in many industries including not-for-profit organizations, construction, automotive sales and repairs and various service related businesses. Dan also supervises all aspects of Hurd & Finley's local area network.

Dan is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Civic Involvement
Dan is the Treasurer for the Choral Society of Pensacola, a former member of the Board of Directors of the American Red Cross of Northwest Florida and former chair of the Audit Committee.  He is President elect of the West Florida Chapter of the FICPA and a former member of the West Pensacola Optimist Club.
